Rosemary Winter Beans

Ingredients

1 cup dried cannelloni beans ( soaked in water) or two cans drained and rinsed.

24 oz of potatoes cut into quarter size ( can get a 24oz bag or 3 large potatoes)

1 onion

3 cloves of garlic

3 sprigs of rosemary ( 1 tbsp dried)

6 cups of water

1 tsp of sea salt

1/4 tsp Black pepper

2 tbsp Vegan Butter

Directions:

1.) Soak beans in filtered water for at least 2 hours, overnight is good too. Chop onion and garlic. Chop potatoes in 1/4 size pieces. Heat a large soup pot on high. Add 2 tbsp of vegan butter ( earth balance) after heating for 1 min. When butter starts to melt/sizzle add in onions and garlic. stir and cook for 2 mins.

2.) When onions start to get more translucent add in sprigs of rosemary, I broke them in half ( include the stem-it has flavor too). stir and cook for 2 mins to let the essence of the rosemary infuse into the butter, onions and garlic. Next add in chopped potatoes and stir. cook for 3 mins and then add in rinsed beans and 6 cups pf water, salt and black pepper. Give it all a stir. Keep heat on medium/high and bring to a boil. Once you have a rolling boil lower heat to simmer and cover pot with a lid and cook for 50 mins until beans are tender. MId cooking give it a stir. When done turn the burner off and let it chill with lid on for 10 mins before serving. Enjoy with butter bread and sautéed garlic greens. Store in containers refrigerated for up to 5 days. Make sure to cool stew to room temperature before refrigerating or freezing.

Rosemary Ritual Bath

In a Mason jar Add:

1-2 cups of seal salt or himalayan salt

1 tbso dried chamomile

1 tbsp Rosemary ( fresh or dried)

1 small clear quartz

1 small Black Tourmaline

Directions: Add all the ingredients to a mason jar ( 8 oz or 16 oz jar). Mix three times with a small spoon or chop stick or give it all 3 good shakes with lid on. Place on your altar for the day and at night this week place it outside or in a window where the moon light faces. The waning moon glow will charge your ritual bath salts. You can also go to a place you feel safe, root your feet into the ground and hold the jar in your hands up to the moonlight and ask her for support in release and protection this week. Ask for support in your intentions for this ritual bath. Maybe it is just to come back to your body and feel like you are home. When you are ready draw your bath or fill your foot soaking bowl with warm/hot water. Light candles ( white are good, black help release too). Speak to your bath water as you pour the contents of your salt bath soak into the bath ( you can do a couple tablespoons if you want to save some for another bath) Scoop out the crystals to add them to the bath as well. If you want you can add rosemary essential oil ( 2 drops) and 1 drop of tea tree oil ( also good for cleansing and protection). Soak in the tub for 15-30 mins, it is feels comfortable keep the lights off and allow your body to float and surrender. Notice thoughts, ideas, experiences if they rise and breath them out or imagine releasing them from your pores into the bath. Try not to attach to them. Breathe out anything that rises and feels icky or uncomfortable. Hold yourself it need be and of course if feeling really uncomfortable get out of the bath, drink a big glass of water and call on support if you can.

Invocation spell to say in the bath:

“ I’m safe, supported and held here and now. I release any any energies, thoughts and situations that do no serve my body, heart and soul in it’s highest good. I release any stagnancy or icky residue. I release what I no longer need. I create space with my heart and body. I am water and I am a blessing. Thank you. And so it is.”

Ask the plants, crystals, salt and water to take any residue or energy that is not serving you. Ask for general or specific supportive release. Speak to the plants and the water. Hold the crystals close to you or place them on a part of your body that feels a little stuck, stiff or tender. Thank each of the elements. Let it go and drain when you are ready. You can burn some rosemary ( keep away from flammable objects) and cleanse your body with the burning rosemary smoke for extra support. As the week flows journal, reflect and release anything that comes up for you that feels like it wants to go. Journal your dreams. Peel back a layer. Change your thoughts. Change your behaviors. Meditate with rosemary. Take this bath twice if you need to. Share this ritual bath recipe with someone who may need support feeling safe in their body, held and grounded.

Note: This recipe and invocation is my own but I was taught about ritual baths by Helena owner and Plant Witch Queen of Morphologically. She is so wonderful and truly intermixes plant science, anatomy, integrative healing and magic in her products. She is also an Aquarius : ) I use her candles for ritual work and daily practice.
